Health and fitness senior executive Robert Johnson heads Stealth Self Health, headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida. Outside of his profession, Robert Johnson supports a number of charities, including the State of Florida Association of Police Athletic/Activities League (SFAPAL).
In order to improve the lives of young people in Florida, SFAPAL was established to help local chapter members through coordination, programs, and training. Created in 1983 by 5 local Florida Police Athletic League (PAL) chapters, the still-expanding organization has a roster of 52 member cities. It holds the distinction of being the nation’s first statewide PAL association.
Among its initiatives is the Youth Directors Program (YDP). It was created to develop the largest group of community service volunteers in Florida under the supervision of the YDP adult coordinator of the respective participating PAL member chapters. The focus of YDP is in community service, voicing opinion, and leading a worthy life.
The program provides responsible leadership training for the participating youth. They are empowered to make decisions, host projects, as well as manage their own group. SFAPAL has also taken the innovative approach of having the youth participate in making decisions for PAL programs.
In this manner the youth that the police officers are trying to help provide input as to how best to help themselves.
